Ride to the Beat of a Different Drum....

Welcome to Moonlit Acre!

We are a small 5 acre farm dedicated to promoting the American Drum Horse. Occasionally we produce top quality foals, but for the most part we love to show and demonstrate this breath taking breed. You will find us at many venues around Fl and we always welcome visitors.

I first fell in love with Shires at a very young age but it wasn't until after college that I purchased my first horse; Annie, a bay Shire mare who is a life long resident. Then one day while browsing the internet, I stumbled upon Mariah's Boon, an American Drum Horse. I wasn't sure what a Drum horse was, but after investigating, I knew this was the breed for me. Size and temperament of the Shire and Clydesdale, color and feather of the Gypsy, but athletic and versatile. After training and raising Boon, it was clear he was to remain a stallion as he exemplifies the qualities of a Drum horse. We had our first foal in 2009 and our first home bred foal in 2010.

We believe the American Drum Horse should be over 16 hands with an athletic build, heavy feather, quality conformation and bone, and the most important, a gentle willing soul.

Have a look around and enjoy our passion! And as always, contact for more information or just to chat horse,

Our farm is also home to Great Danes, a Bassett Hound, Wyandotte chickens, crested ducks, and cows. We tried a goat......it didnt go so well.

You will see Boon and I hitting the local trails, competing in driving events, pleasing crowds at equestrian events, and showing at our local clubs.

Our trainers are: Jean Thornton of Equivale for driving, www.palominowarmbloods.com

Sarah Plante of Harmony Woods for three day eventing, www.facebook.com/pages/de-leon-springs-fl/harmony-woods-training-center/355501324860.
